Community Engagement and Development promotes the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools’ core value of fostering community partnerships to benefit Fresno County students. These community partnerships include educational institutions, community-based organizations, businesses, community members and private, public, and government organizations with the goal of leveraging resources that will contribute to a comprehensive, well-rounded education for Fresno County students ages 0-22.

Expository Reading and Writing Course
Created and maintained by a collaborative group of CSU and high school faculty and specialists, the Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum, (ERWC) is designed to help students develop the academic literacy skills necessary for success in college and the world of work. Schools may adopt the junior and/or senior English course or integrate 9th through 12th-grade modules within existing English courses.
