Enter now: One Day -- One Voice Art and Poetry Contest
The Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, in partnership with the California 9/11 Memorial, is coordinating a art, poetry, and logo contest to honor 9/11 first responders: One Day – The Spirit of 9/12 Art, Poetry, and Logo Contest.
Fresno County students grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the art and poetry contest (entry deadline May 14, 2021). The entries will reflect how our country was united as a result of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. The grand prize is a paid trip to New York for the winning student and one family chaperone to visit the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The top three high school entries in each category will receive a $1,000 scholarship and the top three junior high school entries in each category will receive an iPad.
There’s also a logo contest, with the winning student receiving a $1,000 scholarship and the logo featured on event materials.
Students, their families and the community will be invited to a special afternoon event at the California Memorial on Sept. 11, 2021 to honor the winners and recognize our local first responder heroes. There will be more information to come about this first annual event.
