Community Voices Working Towards Excellence

Students

Over the past four years, the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools held forums to hear from community members because we recognize that there are experiences, assets and challenges that are unique to African American youth and families. Through honest, candid and compassionate dialogue, we are building a bridge toward understanding. We honor the lived experiences of our youth, their parents and community leaders who will inform our action planning in the future with the goal of improved education and life outcomes for Fresno County’s African American youth. We invite you to read the culminating document created from the information and opinions gathered as a result of our forums. Additional resources will be available soon.
