5,000 books donated to migrant students to encourage reading

The joy of reading will be shared with thousands of migrant students this summer as a result of the Magic of Storytelling book donation by ABC 30 and Disney ABC Television Group. Dan Adams, ABC 30 president and general manager, and Aurora Diaz, ABC 30 executive producer of public affairs, presented a portion of the books to a group of students visiting Storyland on Friday, June 17.

The 150 students, grades kindergarten through 5th, each received one book as they entered Storyland. The balance of the 5,000 book donation will be distributed to migrant students throughout the summer to encourage reading.
