CART Earns Grand Champion at 2013 Career Skills Challenge

CART topped thirty-four high schools to win the Grand Championship of the 2013 Career Skills challenge. More than 1100 students from high schools in Fresno, Madera and Mariposa Counties participated in 38 events this year.  Competitions range from troubleshooting an engine in the auto shop to presenting a lesson to pre-schoolers; presenting an elevator pitch to conducting a crime scene investigation. Fresno City College faculty serve as event managers and community advisors serve as judges. The event is held in conjunction with the FCC Showcase open house. CORE Business Interiors were new sponsors this year and Co-CEO Lisa Zimmerman and Director of Operations Andrea Benson helped hand out medals to the winning students. Division winners were Sequoia Division – Kerman High School, Sierra Division – Firebaugh High School and Yosemite Division - CART

This annual event, held on March 21, 2013 on the Fresno City College campus was sponsored by Fresno County Office of Education, Fresno ROP, State Center Consortium, Fresno City College,  and CORE Business Interiors.
