Contreras awarded 2016 Administrative Professional of the Year
Fresno County Office of Education’s Support Staff Conference provides training and enrichment each year to its staff and guests from school districts throughout Fresno County. This year’s 11th annual event on April 29 also honored three finalists for Administrative Professional of the Year – Cathy Angus, School Registrar for Court Schools; Rita Contreras, Administrative Assistant II in the Migrant Education department; and Kris Haubursin, Administrative Assistant I in the Safe and Healthy Kids department.
The award recognizes the outstanding performance of one administrative professional who demonstrates a continued commitment to leadership, education and operational efficiency within his or her department and who provides meaningful contributions to the overall organization.
Contreras, who was nominated by colleague Evaristo Trevino, was chosen as the top FCOE Administrative Professional of the Year.
Contreras’ unique contribution to her department is that no matter how small or how big the task, she will get it done accurately and on time. Her “no excuses’ attitude, big smile and great sense of humor rally the staff to stay focused and surpass any challenge.
“Rita is the Migrant department’s biggest cheerleader,” said Trevino. “She can be counted on for a big smile and words of encouragement for anyone fortunate enough to work with her.”
