February Superintendent’s Superstar shines

Kevin Garcia is a senior at Selma High School. He excels academically, taking three rigorous AP courses and maintaining a 3.5 GPA. He is the President of the LEO Club (through Lion's Club), a member of the APEX Club and serves our community as a Big Brother through a local chapter of the Bigs Program. His involvement in the clubs is focused on helping the community, including serving at a local skilled nursing facility and various youth programs as a positive mentor.

In addition to volunteering, Garcia has participated in many sports throughout his high school career, such as football, track and wrestling. This is Kevin's second year in the annual Fresno County Academic Decathlon. He was awarded first place in a three-way tie for his speech in the Team I division, “What is an American?”
