Fresno Coin Gallery Gold Buying Event

The Fresno Coin Gallery, located at Blackstone and Gettysburg, held a three-week Gold Buying Event from March 1st – 19th to benefit Fresno County schools. Customers came into the store to sell their gold for full price, and 10% of every sale was contributed to The Foundation @ FCOE, the new fundraising nonprofit of the Fresno County Office of Education (FCOE).  Customers designated their 10% to one of five areas:  Academics, Athletics, Agriculture, or the Arts or Area of Greatest Need. Their goal was to raise $100,000 for Fresno County schools, yet through the generosity of many from the Fresno community who participated because they wanted to support our local schools, the Fresno Coin Gallery was able to donate $102,250.40!

At a time when education is facing enormous fiscal challenges, it is gratifying to see community leaders, business partners and citizens stepping up to assist FCOE with an ambitious mission: ensuring that all students receive a quality education and the opportunity to achieve their academic potential. The example set by business leader Steven Foster, Jr., owner of the Fresno Coin Gallery, is paving the way by demonstrating that education is everyone’s business. According to Foster, “We are thankful for the growth in our business and wanted to thank all of our customers. Our local schools have such a great financial need now and we believe in the leadership at the Fresno County Office of Education. The donation is our way of investing in the future of our community.”

Special thanks to community leader and former Mayor Alan Autry and media sponsors ABC 30 and The Fresno Bee for their partnership in making the event successful!
