Guizar honored as February Employee of the Month

It is with pleasure that the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools honored Efrain Guizar, Fresno ROP/CTE Area Coordinator II, as the February 2017 Employee of the Month.

Efrain is a team player who goes above-and-beyond to ensure the highest quality of program and service. He is hard working and organized as he continues to build relationships with district administrators, teachers and communities.

“I’ve been involved in career technical education since I was a teacher,” said Efrain, who previously worked at Kerman Unified School District as both a CTE teacher and district coordinator. “Now I can give back and help school districts broaden and expand their CTE offerings.”

Efrain was instrumental in the success of Career Tech Expo 15. He dealt directly with 150 business professionals, training facilities, apprenticeship programs and colleges in helping to provide more than 2,000 Fresno County high school students and parents’ professional insight into local career opportunities in the career technical field. The expo planning takes many months with hundreds of dedicated hours.

“His efforts helped produce an evening that will make the difference in the lives and futures of many of our local students,” said Anthony Ayerza, Area Coordinator of Fresno ROP/CTE.
Efrain’s open communication and willingness to adapt to the constant changes of an event of this magnitude were always positive and accommodating. He constantly demonstrates shared leadership and empowers staff and districts. Efrain tackles all tasks head on with outcomes that exceed all expectations.

“I appreciate this nomination,” said Efrain. “I think receiving this award reflects on the teamwork of our department. I can’t do my job without their help.”
