High-achieving students awarded at Big Fresno Fair
The Big Fresno Fair and the Fresno County Office of Education, along with valued sponsors, Friends of the Fair, Educational Employees Credit Union and Toyota, partnered to give big rewards to high-achieving high school students in Fresno County.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, Fresno county high school students who had a cumulative 4.0 grade point average or above, gathered at the Big Fresno Fair for the opportunity to enter-to-win a new Toyota Corolla, scholarships and other great prizes. There were 22 prizes given away, including $36,000 in scholarships and a new 2014 Toyota Corolla, which was won by a Washington Union High School student.
The 4.0 & Above Program provides Fresno County school districts, high school principals and teachers an opportunity to encourage students to work hard throughout high school to maintain a 4.0 and above GPA.
