Hinojosa honored as July Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that FCOE honored Norma Hinojosa, Program Secretary at the Sutherland Center, as the July 2016 Employee of the Month.
Norma is the heart and soul of the Sutherland Center. Her 17 years at Sutherland combined with her strong work ethic makes her an indispensable member of the staff team. Her colleagues regularly go to her with procedural questions and advice. Her attitude is one of a life-long learner.
“I love coming to work,” said Norma, who was a paraeducator at Sutherland for one year before the 16 years in her current position. “One of my favorite things about my job is the staff. I enjoy coming in and helping others to get through their day.”
Norma never complains and embraces change as an opportunity to learn. When it comes to new technology or programs, she puts in the time to learn the unfamiliar.
Dave Tenney, Program Manager of the Sutherland Center, who nominated Norma for this honor, said, “Additional jobs I give her she takes on with enthusiasm. Her presence at the Sutherland Center is valued not for the tasks she completes, but for the attitude she has. She is appreciated by all the staff and she is appreciated by me.”
