Jaime appointed as First 5 California State Commissioner

Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Jim Yovino served as the official at the March 10 swearing-in ceremony of the newest First 5 California State Commissioner, Lupe Jaime. Jaime is FCOE’s director of Early Care and Education. The commission’s seven members are appointed by the governor, the speaker of the Assembly and the Senate Rules Committee.

Diane Levin attended the ceremony and offered words of welcome for Jaime on behalf of First 5 California and the commission. Also on hand to offer remarks was Emilia Reyes, Executive Director of First 5 Fresno. Jaime’s regional representation, coupled with her extensive program experience in early learning and education, were prime reasons for her selection to the commission.
