Lalanne honored as February Employee of the Month

It is with pleasure that the Fresno County Office of Education honors Tim Lalanne, a Senior Maintenance Specialist in Facilities and Operations, as the February 2016 Employee of the Month.

Tim is always repairing or improving something. You may find him on a roof replacing an air conditioning unit, repairing furniture in a classroom, in an attic looking for a water leak, painting a wall or changing door locks. Whatever the task, he is up to the challenge!

All the tools Tim needs to do his wonder work are in his FCOE van as he travels from Kerman to Reedley and all FCOE sites in-between.

“I love my job,” said Tim, who worked in heating and air conditioning for 15 years, as well as Visalia Unified School District, before coming to FCOE five years ago. “I’m always at a different place working with different people. Sometimes when I arrive, the teachers have a honey-do list for me.”

Tim has lured, trapped, or chased all kinds of critters from building spaces where they don’t belong, has been instrumental in installing classroom technology systems in numerous special education classrooms and installed literally miles of cable and wiring. He is FCOE’s “Jack (or should we say Tim) of all trades” and has mastered many.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys the great outdoors free-wheeling in his jeep, camping and riding on his quads with his son, Matthew, a freshman at Bullard High School, and daughter, Karli, a 7th grader at Tenaya Middle School.

“It was an exciting feeling to receive Employee of the Month,” said Tim. “I couldn’t do this without the rest of my team.”
