Leon honored as January Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools honored Alicia Leon, Paraprofessional at the Violet Heintz Education Academy, as the January 2017 Employee of the Month.
Alicia can’t help herself from going above and beyond. She arrives at work at least one hour early every day and she works hard every minute after that. She shows initiative without being asked, always looking for tasks that need to be done. Alicia does much more than expected and is always happy to cover for another position when needed and help co-workers.
She does all of this with a positive and friendly attitude, making the school a better place for both students and staff. She is a role model for all.
Alicia truly cares about students. She takes a personal interest in their lives and shares her “pearls of wisdom” at every opportunity. She encourages students to work hard in order to achieve a diploma and succeed in life. Alicia is caring and goes out of her way to serve this challenging population of expelled youth.
In addition to the students, Alicia demonstrates care and concern for her fellow staff members. She thinks of others first and is always looking for opportunities to serve.
“If help is needed, Alicia can be counted on,” said Tracy Klee, Program Manager at VHEA. “She is truly one of a kind.”
