Maduena honored as January Employee of the Month

It is with pleasure that the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools honors Raul Maduena, Project Specialist in the Migrant Education department, as the January 2018 Employee of the Month.

The success of the Migrant Education department is because of excellent staff members such as Raul. He has loyally served the department for the last 12 years with innovations and unfaltering dedication to the migrant students and parents in Fresno County. Raul’s valuable contributions as Project Specialist demonstrates his consistency in showing initiative, ability and knowledge.

His attentiveness and candor have built a solid rapport with everyone he serves. Raul never says “no” when asked for project and volunteer support. He goes above and beyond the call of duty when coordinating college awareness visits and providing supplemental class instruction, as well as other tasks.

Raul is always willing and delighted to be of assistance and regularly performs tasks outside of his scope of duties such as setting up sound systems for conferences, being Santa at the Kerman ARC holiday visit and the migrant family Christmas, helping with Kids Day and the downtown Fresno Christmas parade and cooking meals at community events for students, parents and staff. He is genuine when he says, “I do it all for my migrant family.” It is acts of kindness like his that inspire the entire department.

“I accept this award for all of us,” said Raul on behalf of his migrant department family. “It takes all of us to do the job we do. We put migrant on the map to help families.”
