Moua-Glover honored as July Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that we honor Rainbow Moua-Glover, Program Assistant in the Visual and Performing Arts department, as the July 2019 Employee of the Month.
Summer is an incredibly busy time for the VAPA department due to the needs of its summer arts program, including the Fresno County Youth Choir and Stages Youth Theatre Project. This results in a heavy work load for all of the department’s staff, especially Rainbow who is also responsible for year-end processes. Because of this, Rainbow has developed a procedure to ensure that programs run smoothly and that all students participating in summer activities are safe, feel valued and have the best experience possible.
Her dedication was on full display as she joined the FCYC on their performance tour to San Diego last summer. During the trip, she was a tremendous asset to the group, including transporting musical instruments and gear around the city, as well as arranging meals for more than 60 students and staff members. She even set up tables and handled meal service when needed. Rainbow accomplished all of this without a hitch, while at the same time being the students’ “choir mom.”
Rainbow’s contributions to the VAPA team are essential. This summer her hard work and dedication made it possible once again for almost 100 Fresno County students to experience the power and impact of the arts as they gave back to the community through music, drama, dance and visual art.
“I love my encounters with students,” said Rainbow of the time she spends with them assisting with FCYC and Stages. “I want to take care of them to make sure all goes smoothly. When I get a hug or a thank you card, it’s very rewarding.”
