November Superintendent’s Superstar shines
Bridget Douglas is a junior at San Joaquin Memorial High School. She exhibits a true servant’s heart by demonstrating a selfless willingness to help others. Bridget has a genuinely loving and giving personality.
At SJM, Bridget is a great leader always willing to lend a hand to those in need in the community. She has completed 163 hours personally serving the marginalized by actively volunteering at the Fresno Rescue Mission, Poverello House, Holy Cross Center for Women and Celebrate Abilities Day, to name a few.
She has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her participation in the Mission at the Mission Urban Plunge and Young Neighbors in Action service programs.
Bridget is also involved in many schools clubs, including the Service Club, vice president of the Nature Club, president of the International Club, founder of the Cooking Club, co-founder of the Glee Club and board member of the Gender Equality in Modern Society Club. She has been on the tennis team and the SJM super squad for three years with one year serving as Panther Peet, the school’s mascot. Bridget has also participated in the school’s drama program for three years in lead roles.
In her free time, Bridget loves to cook and opened her own mobile pizza business called Old Fig Pizza. She mounted a wood-fired pizza oven on the back of an old Ford pickup truck and makes pizza for family, friends and caters community events. She donates a portion of the profits to local foundations.
