Pentathlon Adventure encourages students to be fit, healthy
It was a Saturday dedicated to team fun, fitness and nutritional knowledge as more than 500 Fresno County students in grades 4 through 8 competed in the 16th Annual Pentathlon Adventure at the Fresno Fairgrounds Racetrack on April 26. The event, organized by the Fresno County Office of Education’s Safe and Healthy Kids department, also included a Team Iron Chef Challenge where students created two lunch recipes based on ingredients and cooking equipment they supplied, as well as two secret ingredients.
The Pentathlon Adventure included five events along with unique characteristics to educate and challenge each student: Survivor Adventure, Fast Fuel, Team Power Pull, Plyo-mid and Shuttle Run/Create a Health Plate. Each timed event included fitness elements that paralleled current California physical education standards.
