Pinheiro honored as July Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that we honor Dr. Tangee Pinheiro, Senior Director in the Special Education department, as the July 2018 Employee of the Month.
Tangee is an exceptional leader and professional. She demonstrates a shared leadership style and is always seeking input from others. Tangee excels as a leader by using her keen attention to detail and follow-through abilities. She is innovative and utilizes data in her decisions, continually weighing the impact on staff, students, districts, agencies and parents.
Tangee is the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools’ special education lead with Differentiated Assistance and Continuous Improvement in the districts that are identified as needing this assistance. She is forward-thinking with a global perspective and knowledge base needed for this important role.
Tangee has been instrumental in improving instruction and content in FCSS classrooms and programs. She works with staff to ensure Unique Learning Systems standards are being implemented in each classroom as appropriate. She is developing a principal and teacher manual and plays an integral role in the professional development opportunities provided to staff.
Tangee revamped the attendance process. Due to her diligence, FCSS generated Title 1 funds for the first time. These new funds translate to greater budget and department efficiency. Tangee and her staff are responsible for bringing the community together with the success of the FCSS and Schneider Electric Kids Day. More than 1,300 students and 700 adults participated this year at a new venue at the Big Fresno Fair.
“It’s all about trying to find what’s great about each individual – that spark that’s in each person,” said Tangee about her love of working with special education students. “In special education, you just have to dig a little deeper.”
