November Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that we honor My Lee, Licensed Vocational Nurse in Health Services, as the November 2022 Employee of the Month.
The COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on all aspects of life called for a high degree of flexibility, patience and grace from all. Fortunately for FCSS staff, students and parents, LVN My Lee exhibited these traits and more. My was assigned to the COVID-19 Report Line where she took calls from employees, students and families who reported their illness. My would listen to their story, interpret the FCSS return-to-work school charts and then direct the caller on the appropriate isolation/quarantine timelines.
In her interactions with those who called the report line, she offered a sense of humanity to them and showed compassion and support to people who were afraid or concerned about their illness or family situation. My provided resources and was always kind, yet professional.
The pandemic brought staffing challenges in Health Services, but when it came down to the wire, My was always available. When the department needed to reassign her for a few days, she would always take the assignment without hesitating. My brought her quiet, kind and professional mannerisms to every workspace and was often asked to return when there was an opening.
Recently, My transitioned away from the report line and onto the Mobile Health Unit. In her time on the team, she has found her niche and is eager to learn more about her new role.
“This award is beyond words for me,” said My. “I am honored and so thankful for being selected for Employee of the Month and to be part of FCSS. I'm grateful. I was not expecting to get recognized for enjoying what I do.”
