November 2023 Employee of the Month

It is with pleasure that we honor Jacob Cavazos, Welding Teacher at Career Technical Education Charter High School, as the November 2023 Employee of the Month.

Jacob is undoubtedly an asset to the CTEC community. His unwavering dedication and willingness to go above-and-beyond in his area of expertise are truly commendable. He takes on special projects and always says “yes,” demonstrating his commitment to the betterment of his students and the organization. On several occasions, Jacob has taken concepts that were envisioned and turned them into reality. Such an attitude is invaluable in an educational setting as it fosters an environment of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

Jacob's proactive and enthusiastic approach to his work has a positive impact on those around him, inspiring a culture of excellence and a can-do attitude. His contributions and work to identifying community-changing projects further emphasize his dedication to the institution's mission and the success of his students.

Jacob’s commitment to his work makes a positive difference in the lives of students and colleagues. He offers after-school support and provides further educational options, demonstrating his genuine care for students' success. He encourages students to showcase their work within the community, such as at the Fresno Fair, ROP/FCC Skills Challenge and local welding competitions, which is a fantastic way to recognize and celebrate the students' achievements.

This practice not only provides students with a platform to display their skills and talents, but also allows them to gain valuable exposure to a wider audience. With Jacob’s guidance, students have been able to showcase their talent and promote the importance of vocational education. He is a role model worth celebrating.
