Singh honored as June Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that FCOE honored Manjit Singh, Program Manager II in Human Resources – Teacher Induction, as the June 2016 Employee of the Month.
In 2006, Manjit was hired to work part-time for the Fresno County Office of Education. Four years later, she began working as a Consultant with FCOE’s Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment department. She was later promoted to Coordinator II and most recently Program Manager II. During her tenure, the BTSA department recommended a total of 332 individuals to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in order to clear their General Education credentials.
In 2013, the Clear Education Specialist Induction Program received commission approval. Through Manjit’s leadership, FCOE Teacher Induction has undergone notable advancement. It has become a support system truly advancing teachers on their journey to become innovative practitioners for all 21st Century students, while meeting the unique needs of each teacher.
“We provide the needed support for new teachers to be the best for their students,” said Manjit. “We want them to keep the fire alive and continue to grow for their students’ sake.”
Today, Manjit strives to enhance the effectiveness and relevancy of every aspect of the program by remaining abreast of the most current practices and trends in education. She leads and supports her team to continuously participate in professional learning opportunities and further implement the newly acquired knowledge to benefit Teacher Induction, FCOE and school districts throughout the Central Valley.
She’s both successful in the workplace and at home, balancing her life with her husband, Paul, and their two sons, Jahan and Aaryan. From going to baseball games and volunteering in her son’s classroom and school, Manjit maintains an upbeat attitude and strives to serve others even in the busiest of times.
“A big thank you,” said Manjit of her employee of the month honor. “I’m completely humbled and feel blessed to have the team I do.”
