Superintendent's Superstar February 2025

Jade Perez - Superintendent Superstar February 2025

Jade is a junior at Laton High School and a shining example of school spirit. As a Navajo Native American and Hispanic student, Jade has maximized all that the district provides to grow, lead and inspire. Raised in the close-knit community of Laton, she has flourished in an environment that values connection, opportunity and perseverance. Drawing strength from her grandparents, the father figures who have guided her, and -- most importantly -- her mother’s unwavering support, Jade has turned encouragement into action. Guided by the saying, “Be the reason the tree grows,” she credits those who have nurtured her success and, in turn, strives to uplift others.

Jade’s remarkable accomplishments reflect her dedication and passion. As a GENYOUTH National Youth Council member, she proudly represents Laton High School on a national stage, bringing recognition to both her school and community. She is a leader within the Future Farmers of America chapter, and as a student-athlete since middle school, she now serves as team captain, leading by example through hard work and determination. Her involvement in Link Crew highlights her commitment to supporting younger students, helping them transition to high school with confidence. Outgoing, outspoken and service-oriented, Jade is an exemplary student who has seized every opportunity to learn, lead and give back.

Beyond school, Jade remains deeply engaged in her community, participating in local events and even running for rodeo queen to proudly represent Laton and its surrounding areas. Her leadership, resilience and cultural pride have shaped her into a role model, not just within the district, but on a national scale. Jade is a testament to what is possible when students take full advantage of the resources, programs and opportunities available to them.
