Expository Reading and Writing Course

Created and maintained by a collaborative group of CSU and high school faculty and specialists, the Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum, (ERWC) is designed to help students develop the academic literacy skills necessary for success in college and the world of work. Schools may adopt the junior and/or senior English course or integrate 9th through 12th-grade modules within existing English courses.

Professional Learning Workshops - No Cost

Professional Learning (PL) opportunities are intended for English teachers as an introduction to the materials contained in the California State University (CSU) 11th and 12th-grade Expository Reading and Writing Courses. Additionally, 9th-10th grade materials are available, and all high school teachers, Administrators and support staff are welcome to attend. Middle School trainings are available by request. 3.0 Introductory Workshop - No Cost

Become an ERWC Certified Educator and gain access to the ERWC Curriculum and Continuing Professional Learning by completing our 3.0 Introductory Workshop (24 hours). 

 

3.0 Update Workshop - No Cost

Previously Certified ERWC Educators can also attend a 3.0 Update Workshop (12 hours). The Update Workshop supports educators in their use of our new 3.0 Modules integrated with Universal Design for Learning, Transfer, and Inquiry as well as Designated and Integrated ELD.
