Health Services

The Health Services Department is part of Educational Leadership and Development.  Our School Nurses and other health professionals provide consultation, collaboration, coordination, and in-service training in health and environmental issues that affect students, staff, schools, and the community.  Assistance is provided in the following areas: mandated screenings, immunizations, substance abuse, medically fragile students, alternative education, communicable diseases, exposure control plans for blood borne pathogens, employee wellness, nutrition, child abuse, health policies and procedures, and staff development for district school nurses.  Health Services also assists staff in providing flu and COVID-19 shots, TB risk assessment screenings, TB skin tests (as needed), and other health and wellness issues.

Mission Statement: 

Provide health care, health education, and advocacy services to students in Fresno County schools in order to promote lifelong wellness for students, families, schools and the community.
