Annual FAFSA event helps students apply for financial aid

Almost 800 students are one step closer to their college dreams by completing a Free Application for Federal Student aid form at an annual event coordinated by the Fresno County Office of Education and Univision. The FAFSA event was held on Feb. 15 at five locations throughout the Central Valley, including California State University, Fresno; West Hills College, Coalinga; North District Center, Firebaugh; West Hills College, Lemoore; and Reedley College.

Completing a FAFSA application is critical to prospective and current college students to determine their eligibility for federal programs. Without outreach to families, especially those in which English may be their second language, many eligible students would miss the opportunity to participate in this essential first step to receiving much-needed financial aid.
