April Superintendent’s Superstar shines

Ananya Vinay, 11 years old and a student at Fugman Elementary School, was honored as the April Superintendent’s Superstar at the monthly Fresno County Board of Education meeting.

Vinay won the Fresno County Spell-Off on March 15. She is the reigning California State Elementary Spelling Bee Champion two years in a row, with her second win at the state competition on April 23. She advances to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in May.
