Goodman honored as September Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that we honor Kaleena Goodman, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Itinerant Teacher and Oral Preschool in the Special Education department, as the September 2019 Employee of the Month.
Kaleena has been a tremendous asset to the DHH Itinerant team for eight years, working at the Beth Ramacher Educational Complex. She is a team player, always diving in to help whenever and however she is needed. She makes the environment more fun and colorful through her crafts, “birthday chair” cover and her bright personality.
Kaleena volunteered to take on the task of writing the DHH Assessment template, collaborating with lawyers, psychologists and program managers to get it just right, which is no small task. She helps coordinate team collaboration days and organizes and distributes incoming referrals to FCSS programs received from the state.
Kaleena also served on the CTA board for four years as secretary and is a Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer to ensure the children in Fresno County’s foster care system have a voice and someone to care about them through the process. She was recognized by CASA for her dedication and commitment to foster youth in Fresno.
“A successful day is hoping for new words,” said Kaleena of her goal for her young students. “If they walk away with something they didn’t come to school with that day, it is progress.”
