Hansen honored as November Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools honors Kathy Hansen, Speech Language Pathologist in the Special Education department, as the November 2017 Employee of the Month.
Kathy is a person who always goes the extra mile by helping others no matter what department they work in. She has been a support system to many new speech and language co-workers in training, as well as to resource specialists, special day classes and the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools’ Special Education department for almost 29 years.
In the Mendota Unified School District, Kathy works at McCabe Elementary, Washington Elementary, Mendota Elementary, Mendota Junior High and Mendota High schools. Parents, principals and staff are comfortable with Kathy and know they can call her with any questions and concerns when it comes to students or the program. Kathy always has a cheerful disposition and is kind and friendly.
“Kathy is a pillar in the community,” said Belinda Meyer, Special Education program manager. “She has served generations of families.”
Students love coming to speech and language therapy because Kathy creates a welcoming and fun learning environment. She works hard and is a dedicated ambassador of FCSS.
“Kathy took the time to teach me everything I know about speech and language,” said colleague Rosa Linda Martinez. “She is an awesome co-worker and friend.”
