Hernandez honored as November Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that the Fresno County Office of Education honored Rosa Hernandez, Department Automation Specialist in Migrant Education, as the November 2016 Employee of the Month.
Rosa, who has been with FCOE for 12 years and in the Migrant Education department eight years, always gives 100% to her job. She volunteers to work on weekends and always offers support to staff.
Her strong work ethic and integrity are prevalent in everything she does. Rosa is extremely knowledgeable in the rules and regulations of the migrant program and the Migrant Student Information Network. Her main responsibilities are to identify and recruit families who are eligible to receive programs offered by Migrant Education.
“I enjoy coming to work and reviewing paperwork so families can qualify for our programs,” said Rosa.
Rosa also trains new staff in the districts and prepares presentations for regional staff meetings. She works one-on-one to help staff complete Certificate of Eligibility legal forms. Rosa visits districts by appointment and helps them with recruitment and special activities for migrant students.
Outside of work, Rosa is busy with her three children, ages 13, 14 and 19. She doesn’t have much free time, but her leisure activity of choice is running half and full marathons.
