January Superintendent’s Superstar: Jordan De La Cruz
Congratulations to Jordan De La Cruz, a fifth grader at Red Bank Elementary School in Clovis, for being chosen as the January Superintendent’s Superstar. He was honored at the monthly Fresno County Board of Education meeting for holding a “Teddy Bears for Healing” drive to benefit sick children at Valley Children’s Hospital over the holiday season. De La Cruz collected 1,000 bears in all shapes and sizes to bring smiles to the faces of young patients.
“I see kids crying like they are not feeling well. Some were in a cast and I didn’t like that,” he said in a KSEE 24 Education Matters segment featuring the remarkable young man and other students donating time to help those in need.
