Mancera honored as March Employee of the Month
Mancera has been an LVN with the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools for 13 years, serving some of the most medically fragile students in the county. As a procedure nurse at Monte Vista School, she is a vital partner in keeping its students healthy and ready to learn.
It is not uncommon for Mancera to go above and beyond in her care at Monte Vista. She is always willing to stay after school to monitor a student who may have a medical incident while the student waits for parents to pick him or her up. She volunteers to complete supplemental tasks such as doing the monthly checks on the school’s Automated External Defibrillators. If there is an absence on the nursing team at Monte Vista, without fail, Mancera will be there to assist with medical procedures throughout the day.
Outside of school, Mancera keeps busy with her extended family. She is a single mother to five boys. She has three of her own, as well as two young nephews now in her custody. She recently purchased a larger home for her and her boys and makes it her goal to give them the best life possible.
“I became an LVN because I like helping people and I love making our kids laugh,” said Mancera of her career choice. “Our students are smiling all the time and always happy. We all work together to make life better for our students.”
