Pitts honored as March Employee of the Month
It is with pleasure that we honor Vanessa “Huon” Pitts, LVN in the Health Services department assigned to Beth Ramacher Educational Complex, as the March 2019 Employee of the Month.
Huon has been with the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools for more than five years. She is a team player and helps with medical procedures of some of the most medically fragile students in Fresno County. She also assists in training any third party staff who cares for students.
As an LVN at a school with children with special needs, she must often care for students with seizures. During these times, Huon offers her valuable assistance by running to obtain oxygen and medication for the seizing child. Each time she is asked to assist, her response is always the same, “Yes, how can I help?”
She always has a smile on her face when helping nursing staff and her attitude is that of service to others. Huon also takes care of an ailing family member daily, which would be a strain on any hard-working person, but not her. Although her load is heavy at home and at work, she never falters in her desire to help those in need.
“I love the kids and I learn so much from them every day,” said Huon. “My co-workers are great. They can count on me and I can count on them. We provide support to each other.”
