December 2023 Superintendent's Superstar
Karinna Tate is a senior at Justin Garza High School in Central Unified School District. She is dedicated to academics, as well as involved in extracurricular activities and leadership roles. Her willingness to always learn, especially while working with others from different backgrounds, are strong indicators of her future success.
Karinna has consistently maintained a 4.0 GPA since elementary school. She has won several academic awards over the past 10 years, including prestigious accolades at her high school. Some of those incredible achievements include serving as the first President of the National Honor Society at Justin Garza High School; Representative of African Americans for Cultural Ambassadors; hosted and created Garza’s first Teacher’s Chili Cook-Off Contest; won the Literacy Poem contest; member of the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools’ Ujima Student Leadership Academy; and served in a leadership role at the FCSS annual African American Student Leadership Conference.
Karinna’s higher education goal is achieving a Bachelor of Arts in English Communications and becoming a corporate lawyer.
